I was asked to write words for a piece of music that A Member of the Public had written. A different challenge, but it’s a lyric I am very happy with.

Then I did my version -below- . I was trying to evoke a feeling, conjure emotions, this song is all about the listener. If you don’t feel this vibe when listening, then I perhaps I didn’t do a good job.

I sensed my muse so I stole a look

I was floating through a borrowed book

Searching for a hook to hang my song on

Waiting for a late-night bus

Who was she? I was curious

But she was gone, like the shadow in my song
