Trinity

I have had a couple of versions of this done Simon Mogridge and by Aldo (A Member of The Public) both have very generously given their time. This first version by Simon is a rough demo that would be helped by a better production but I like it.

This version by A Member of Public with Florian Hoffmann is nicely layered and more professional. and got very good feedback from a critics site. .

I’m not a man of romance

And it’s hard to keep me down

There’s no room for dreaming

In this one horse country town

But the breeze I caught this morning

Made my thoughts just fall askew

When a whisper of a faint scent

Took my head straight back to you

But a flicker of a memory

And dropping in your name

While talking to your best friend

Means nothing all the same

It doesn’t mean I miss you

or the way it used to be

I know you’re never coming back to me

Trinity

That tattoo with our heart date

Was all you left behind

I went to get it altered

But then I changed my mind.

I turned the key in my old Chevy

And drove slowly for a while

At the place you once took me

I sensed the shadow of your smile

But driving to my memories

And talking to your ghost

And talking to your best friend

And checking letters in the post

Doesn’t mean I miss you

or the way it used to be

I know that you’re never coming back to me

Trinity

-bridge-

You were my wild-heart

You were my music

You were my warm place

You were my star

Then a no-show and I don’t know

Why you went

Or where you are.

Doesn’t mean I miss you

or the way it used to be

I know you’re never never coming home to me
