This is a piece I wrote for a friend in London and his partner, Lucia. I have recently utilised new tech for the music whaddathink?
Version 1 with Amy innes
Version 2 with Amos inman
A Russet-red autumn
London music school
There was not a face that I knew
But there was Lucia
With cool brown eyes
I wanted to count stars with you
—
I dreamt by the window
You walked through the door
My voice was just a whisper
I wanted to soar
You sang new life into me
-PC-
You’re a breath of life
You’re a breath of life
You sang new life right into me
-Ch-
You amplify me
You amplify me
You make me the voice
that I want to be
You amplify me
–
Lone shard of sunlight
In a dusty room
I dance over piano keys
My Lucia, those brown eyes
In the winter
She’s my summer breeze
-Bridge-
You are my coat of many colours
Lucia you see
You are the muse of my music
You amplify me
–
You amplify me
You amplify me
You make me the voice
that I want to be
You amplify me
You amplify me
–
I dreamt by the window
You walked through the door
My voice was just a whisper
I wanted to soar

Muse Comments.
“When I critique songs, I spend less time on the content and way more time on how lyricists express their thoughts, in particular how original they are…so when I read the title before looking at the lyric…I thought….sounds like an old theme to me….then I read the lyric and what you wrote was a brand new way to say something that’s been said over and over….that is excellent lyric writing…and tough to accomplish.” Steve
